We run a full programme of events from April through to October — on the water and off it. From cruises and regattas to work parties and social evenings, there's always something going on.
About our events
The HYCC events season runs from April through to October, taking full advantage of the best cruising conditions on the River Medway. Outside of the main season we also hold social events including our AGM in March and the Christmas Party in November.
Events range from organised club cruises and the prestigious Mayor's Cruise to informal work parties, evening talks, and big social occasions like Rogers Regatta. There really is something for everyone.

As a full member of HYCC you'll have access to our private Facebook group, where all event details, updates, navigation alerts and club news are posted throughout the year.
The Facebook group is the primary way the committee communicates with members — it's where you'll find joining instructions, times, and any last-minute changes for every event.

Little Venice
Members' annual general meeting — the formal start of the club year.
Club Land, Bow Bridge
Keep the club land in great shape for the season ahead. Greggs sausage rolls provided.

A practical evening talk for members thinking about venturing below Allington Lock onto the tidal Medway.
Strood
A club cruise down to Strood to take in the famous Sweeps Festival. A great day out on the tidal river.
Hampstead Marina
Kick off the summer with a BBQ on club land. Food, drinks, and good company on the riverside.
Club Land, Bow Bridge
Mid-season maintenance to keep the club land looking its best. Greggs sausage rolls provided.
River Medway
The Mayor of Maidstone's Court of Survey Cruise — organised by HYCC since 1981, in pursuance of the 1559 Charter of Queen Elizabeth I that granted the borough jurisdiction over the Medway as far as the Hawkwood Stone.
Maidstone
Join fellow members on the water for Maidstone's popular annual River Festival.
Club Land, Bow Bridge
Late-summer tidy-up of the club land. Greggs sausage rolls provided.
Club Land, Bow Bridge
A sail past in memory of Roger of Bow Bridge Marina, followed by a gathering on club land for all members and guests.
River Medway
An end-of-summer cruise to The Meadows — a favourite destination for HYCC members.
